This is one of our go-to spots. We always get the red eye shrimp and I'm a big fan of the Cajun grouper sandwich. Lots of Sunday Brunch options too.

Harvey's just feels like one of those "okay" places to eat. Nothing is fantastic, it is just okay. The service is just okay, at best. Came with a group of ladies for dinner and drinks and was underwhelmed. Appetizers feel like they came from next door at GFS. Drinks were fine and nicely priced. But service was disappointing - it felt as if the waitress wanted to turn over the table more quickly than we did. The service reflected that.

Food was fair Server was good but they need someone at the door (hostess) that can at least smile and say hello or welcome. Will not return

The French dip sandwich was very bland and soggy. I had to ask for another sub roll to rebuild our sandwich and make it edible. It came with a rice salad that I did not care for. My boyfriend absolutely loves fettuccini Alfredo, but he did not like his fettuccini Alfredo here. It was very greasy and the noodles were overlooked. Also, like the sandwich, it was very bland. For an app we got the fried vegetables and once again the food was not flavorful. I will not be returning.

Best grouper sandwich in town! Grouper nuggets and chicken tenders are a second favorite! Recently changed their prices and now charging for sides. That's a turnoff to me-- I'd rather see the price go up and don't tell me you're charging for my side item. We used to visit Harvey's on a regular basis, but due to these changes, our dining in this establishment will dwindle--- as I've heard others say they're unhappy with the changes and acting like El Cap a few blocks north charging for every single item.

We like to eat at Harvey's every couple of weeks. The grouper sandwich is very good and it's a place you feel comfortable bringing the kids.

We've been coming here since it opened. We are never dissatisfied. Tonight, dinner was tasty, hot and reasonably priced. Our waiter, Riley was pleasant and attentive. Overall, as usual, it was a great experience!

Harvey's is one of the best pub-style restaurants. I have tried a few items on the menu that are alright, but the blackened grouper sandwich is phenomenal. I don't order anything else anymore because it's be a disappointment!

I love going to Harvey's for the brocolli quiche. It is always cheesy and has a nice crunchy crust. I don't like the new breakfast potatoes. They are extra fried and tasteless. They had creamy breakfast potatoes that they should bring back. I love the fresh fruit that is always served with the quiche. We are always greeted right away and sat immediately. I don't think I have ever had to wait.

The red eye I believe is the name. It's half BBQ sauce and half Buffalo Sauce... With the incredible Blue Cheese sauce and the bong fries. Damn m that makes me hungry as hell with an appetite for just this. I will see you tomorrow!

Had lunch with a friend and it was ok. I ordered the grouper sandwich. The waitress raved about the fries and I thought they were terrible. Friend ordered a chicken salad sandwich and enjoyed, it was actually quite large.

Always consistently yummy food! I love the Alfredo... It may sound strange but it's really good. This place isn't where you want to head for high end fru-fru stuff. This is a place for consistently tasty American food. Your waitress will always be friendly and refill your drink happily. The home made bleu cheese should be tried. I love it on a lot of menu items. The fresh cut fries are very good. They go great with a burger (burgers are better than El Caps!). If your looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, with friendly service and a tasty cocktail - stop and try Harvey's.

I went here on Friday night after my search for Cuban food (I'm always pretty random, which is how I ended up here)..but after a few unsuccessful attempts and a rained out annoyed family, we decided to swing by this place. We ended up getting the last seat in the house (lucky us!). The server was really friendly and the atmosphere has a quaint wooden pub type feel. I had the grouper sandwich which was super freaking good! It's only my 4th since coming to the bay, and I will say it's my fav. You definitely should try this place.

The Good: Ambiance is great. It reminds me of places I used to go with my family. Just a good, cozy feeling. Tv's to watch the games, lots of seating, neat raised bar. Feels family owned and we liked that :) The service was top notch. Seriously great server. Can't remember her name but she was incredibly enthusiastic, quick and on top of it. Our glasses never made it past half empty, our food came out quickly and she checked on us often. Very happy with the service. The Bad: Nothing bad. The food was 'ok'. Not terrible, just ok. We'll likely be back for a football game or something. Not for a date though...

Make sure your read the fine print on the menu, price states $14.95 for grouper sandwich, ( small * appears, which means you are not paying $14.95, you are being charged "market price", and they add $2.00 on to your bill), no mention by server,.

Arrived at 4:15, waitress (older blonde woman) didn't ask us what we wanted to drink until 4:25, then we ordered an appetizer with our drink order, waitress then didn't address us again for our order until after the appetizer arrived. Manager brought us out our dinner, waitress again didn't check on us until we stopped eating when we stopped her to ask for a box, thinking she'd be back with the check and the box we didn't ask for the check but ten minutes later she came and said she forgot about the box for a minute, we gave her our card then. We are a young couple, it was our first time there and the food was good enough to consider making. It a regular place but the waitress just pretended we weren't even there even though she wasn't busy she chose to talk to other people about the couch she bought off Craigslist instead.

This place can be pretty busy at around 7 p.m. on a weekday night, but by about 8:30 p.m. it was about half full. Obviously it is a local favorite. There is a huge menu that will satisfy even the pickiest eater. It was still a tad difficult to find a hearty vegetarian dish that is not a salad (one of my friends is vegetarian). We started with their potato skins, which were big and hearty. My friend and I split one it was that big. I got the Chicken Walnut salad. It was basically a chicken salad sandwich filling on top of lettuce. This surprised me, although on the menu it does say the chicken and walnuts were mixed with mayonnaise, so maybe I shouldn't have been that shocked. It was pretty good, but not great. The portions are big and the variety of food large, making this seem like a good go to restaurant. There is a bar elevated a bit on one side of the dining room with big screen t.v.s playing sports. I would probably only go back with a large group where everyone liked different types of food. However, if i lived closer I would venture back more readily.

This place really shined. We visited on a Saturday for lunch when downtown St. Petersburg was busy with several events. During lunch Harvey's 4th Street Grill got busier and busier while handling the bustle in expert stride. As we entered, we were greeted in a very friendly manner and promptly seated. The restaurant is designed with a tiered layout with tables in the center and a step-up to the right and the bar on the step-up to the left. The décor has a dark-wood look reminiscent of a pub having a fun family friendly atmosphere. We were not seated very long before we were greeted by our server and took our drink orders. We ordered two burgers; my friend ordered the Alpine Burger with fries and I ordered the Plain Burger with potato salad. It was not long before the server returned with the food; except it was two Alpine Burgers. When we pointed out the error the server explained that she had heard me order an Alpine Burger and promptly took it away stating "no worries" they would make it right. My next thought was my friend would be finished before mine returned. I was wrong. In under a minute a manager tapped me on the shoulder offering an apology for the misunderstanding while placing my order in front of me. This was expertly handled in a very timely fashion. The Plain Burger was prepared to my order of medium garnished with lettuce, tomato, and a pickle spear on the side; the Alpine Burger was topped with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. The combination of the burger with its toppings created a delightful sensation of taste with the hot burger topped with the cool crisp vegetables. My friend expressed the fries were hot and fresh. My potato salad had larger chunks of potato with a hint of egg with a distinct taste of dill. This was a very satisfying experience. I did note that the bar area was not large but could accommodate a small happy hour and appeared to serve all types of drinks. If you are looking for a nice place for dinner or lunch this would be it.

I justb heard about Harveys last night and had a very nice dinner there, they have GREAT food made from scratch and tastes good for a fair price, just what people really want to get when they eat out!! I went back today for lunch as I just had to try the burgers and I can safely say Harveys has THE BEST Hamburgers bar none in the western central coast of Florida. They use fresh ground Sirloin, (not the cheap hamburger meat, or frozen patties from hell most use) they actually butter and toast their bun on the flat top the old fashion way using a steamer cap to sear in the flavors. and they use top quality cheese and veggies to top it off, this is what burgers used to be made like!! on the side they offer FRESH hand cut french fries for only a buck extra, not those frozen junk everyone else uses out of cheapness and expediency!! Do yourself a favor and try Harveys 4th st. bar and grill, its an old St. Pete institution since 1984, feels like its been there since 1884!!

Had a great brunch with about 25 other friends at Harvey's today . . . they are awesome. We were able to make reservations and reserve the back room with picnic tables. Harvey's has been around a long time and is consistent. They make everything from scratch and have the best dressings and food. I love the breakfast potatoes on their Sunday brunch, fried veggie app, and almost all their sandwiches. The fires and potato salad are awesome too. It is kid friendly and always packed. They have a bar and lots of regulars. The price is right as well. Cheers!

One of the best bar and grilles around! I've tried almost everything on the menu but my must have items are broccoli bites as an appetizer and either the BBQ chicken sandwich, red eye chicken sandwich or fettucini Alfredo. After dinner try the Oreo milkshake, if u have room that is. The servers are great and have been here for years for a reason. On full moon they have a party with lobster that is at a great price. I come here at least every other month since I live in Tampa and can't get here more often. I'm giving Harvey's 5 STARS!!!!

Great catering services. We chose Harvey's for my Mom's retirement party and were very happy. Filet was outstanding, fish dip excellent, as well as the rest of the spread. I was most pleased with the service which was friendly and accommodating.

Horrible! If you want to be seated and eat steer clear of Harvey's! They don't care about the customer. I called for a reservation for 630 for 6 and they said they had a table available. After waiting 40 minutes and watched group after group get seated because they arent smart enough to push two tables together! Manager came over and was defensive and offered no apology.... Just rudeness. Millers ale house on 9th took us right in and super nice and great food. Millers ale house rocks!

Worst fettuccini pasta ever and garlic bread. They should use fresh garlic, basil and oregano. Garlic bread had no visible garlic or herbs. I will never return!!!! Blah!

3.5. A quaint neighborhood restaurant which prides itself of being quintessential Western Floridian - whatever that means. The food was better than I expected which is why I wanted to bump it up to a 4. I had the Florida Gold which was very good but my boyfriend's Cajun chicken sandwich was average according to him. It is better than average food but it didn't have me bouncing. Still, good enough to get me to come back to try the breakfast which seems to be the basis of a lot of the great reviews. The inside is dark bc the only window is up front near the hostess desk, which, for me, is fine for night at dinner time but not for lunch or breakfast, that's why I would recommend requesting one of the tables in the back room where it is set up more like picnic tables and there are windows where sunlight can get in. Not a great view or anything down there but at least you don't feel like you're in a cave. Service was average. Nothing exceptionally great or rude.

Wasn't a fan at first but now it's become a regular spot for me. I eat lunch here about once a week. The cheeseburger is excellent, as are the breakfast dishes I've tried: blueberry pancakes and a standard eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes plate. Good, simple food, friendly staff.

Use to be a great place...not so much anymore. Prices are good for breakfast but food is just not what it use to be. Last couple times it has been a let-down. The Tenderloin Benedict had virtually no flavor, meat was not cooked as ordered, Sunday Sampler had runny eggs with toast that was so hard could not eat. Waitress was nice. We told her we have been coming for years and things have been different lately and asked her to pass on...was same next time we went back. I think we might be done going unless we hear from some of our friends it is getting back to the great place it use to be.

A classic St. Pete staple! Every Time I visit my home town I make a point to visit. They have the best blackened grouper sandwich around! I know it's a short review, but just get the sandwich!

Harvey's is an ok place but please, I live local tell your staff to keep their after hours staff bash to a noise quieter than bam bams and pebbles honeymoon, also I love games but at 2am the game of throwing beer bottles into a metal trash can can seem so much fun, for us that have to get up at 6am, just shut up

I can't believe today was my first visit to this place! I come from Orlando regularly to visit my Grandma and this is super close to where she lives. We walked in around 5 and were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in the door. Grandma wanted to sit in their "sun room" which is an enclosed patio with picnic tables and a beautiful ceiling our server told us was the dance floor of an old St. Pete hotel. I ordered a cheeseburger and my grandma had the grouper sandwich. Both were delicious. My burger patty looked like it had been hand formed, no pre-made burgers here! My sangria was yummy too. I think the only downside was that the sunroom was a bit loud for my grandma. Apparently it's the party room and the voices from the group near us seemed to be bouncing off the walls. Also there was no mention any specials. Is there a happy hour? I'd love to go back and sit at the bar.

Anytime I go here I always forget that I have been here before. Its a nice bar that's always crowded. Great appetizers and burgers. The wait staff is great and they have a full bar. Only issue is that the parking is terrible Anytime I visit, I have to park quite a distance away. I guess that's a sign of a good place. But if that's my only issue then maybe that's my own problem =)

The best grouper sandwich in this area. The 4th st grill is another one of my favorites. When you get your check have your cash or credit card ready, sometimes it takes awhile for the wait staff to come back

Best neighborhood bar around. Casual, friendly, and affordable. Huge menu and not everything is a home run, but the grouper nuggets or sandwich are always wonderful. (Market price adjustment is fair and worth it since they only offer the freshest and best quality.) Smoked fish spread is great. My favorite sides are the coleslaw and potato salad (like Mom used to make.) The Florida Gold sandwich is a pleasant veggie surprise that any non-vegetarian could enjoy (order it grilled).

Great casual place for dinner I've been going here for years. Always a good time. Food and service is always good and consistent. My favorite dishes here are the chicken fingers and the chicken walnut salad croissant. The chili is good too as well as the burgers.

Nothing great, nothing terrible. Came here for lunch, sat in their "sundeck," which is really just another room but has a lot more light then the tomb that is their main seating area. They have a big menu, plenty of options for every taste. I ended up with a cajun chicken sandwich and fries. It was good - not great, but acceptable and reasonably priced. It's the type of place that could be an old reliable. You don't know where else to go, want a quick inexpensive meal that doesn't need to blow your socks off, you come to Harvey's. But it's not a location if you're looking for a spectacular meal.

Cheers!

As usual the food was awesome, but the service was aweful by Rachael. I truly think we were bothering her by being there. She should not work with the public.

How have I not reviewed Harvey's? Love this neighborhood favorite. They have a great pub atmosphere and picnic table dining on their back enclosed porch. The porch is especially kid-friendly, but I have always been comfortable taking my kids to Harvey's. They love the grilled cheese. My favorites include the walnut chicken salad on a croissant and the turkey Reuben. The menu is vast and they definitely have something for everyone. Great for Sunday brunch! See you again soon, Harvey's.

Great catering services. We chose Harvey's for my Mom's retirement party and were very happy. Filet was outstanding, fish dip excellent, as well as the rest of the spread. I was most pleased with the service which was friendly and accommodating.

Blah!
